Open Call: Become a Reporter for Faces of Europe.

Do you have a passion for photography and journalism? Do you like getting to know people and discovering their stories? Do you believe that the different mentalities, worldviews and ways of life that the European continent harbors are worth celebrating? Would you like to tackle present European challenges from a personal and individual perspective? Then become a reporter for Faces of Europe!

Faces of Europe is an online photoblog launched by Your Vision for EUrope, an AEGEE-Europe project. The first edition of Faces of Europe was already a success. Thanks to a committed team of 16 reporters from seven different nationalities, we published stories of many different Europeans on our Facebook page, collecting more than 2.500 likes and many messages of support and positive feedbacks from our readers.

Now, you can also read the photoblogs of Faces of Europe on our brand new website.

Soon we will be ready to launch the second edition of Faces of Europe, and we are determined to make it even better than the first one! Do you want to be part of it? Every young person living in Europe or originally from Europe is welcome to apply as a reporter.

The application process consists of two steps:
1. Fill out the application form.
2. Send an email with one photoblog to [email protected]

Every photoblog should consist of:
a. A portrait picture of a person. Please make sure that the person portrayed has given his/her consent to the publication of his/her photo (oral consent is sufficient, except in the case of minors).
b. A short text in English (max. 200 words). The text should be a personal story told by the person portrayed (written from the first person perspective).

The deadline to complete the whole application (step 1 and 2) is the 15th of November 2016, midnight C.E.T.

You can get inspired by visiting our Facebook page.

In case you are selected, you will be asked to send in 1 or 2 photoblogs per month. You will become part of a diverse team of young photobloggers and you will be supported by the Your Vision for EUrope Project Team. We will encourage peer-to-peer learning and exchange among the reporters, in order to offer you a valuable learning opportunity in an international environment. This is an unpaid position, but we can provide you with an official reference from Your Vision for EUrope, in case you would need it to prove your participation in this project.
Please contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions.
